Why you need a dedicated podpage.

The case for a podcast guest information centre on your website.

Even with the support of an agency or a matching platform, a podcast guesting page, what I am calling a “podpage,” on your own website offers benefits including control of our brand, enhanced credibility, direct traffic, greater customization, and a comprehensive showcase of your appearances.

A podcast guest information centre, a "podpage," a just like the media information centres that companies have. It provides a central place for all of your information. Most importantly, as long as you own your website,  you own this space. It' owned not rented digital property.

1. Centralized Control and Branding

Your podcast guesting page allows you to maintain full control over how you're presented to potential podcast hosts. While agencies and platforms can be useful, your own page ensures that your bio, availability, and previous appearances are always up-to-date and aligned with your personal brand. It also reinforces your brand by keeping everything consistent with the look and feel of your website.

Imagine your guest bio on the platform might not highlight your latest achievements or recent projects. Your website page can be updated immediately to reflect your most current work, ensuring hosts get the most relevant information.

2. Enhanced Credibility and Professionalism

Having a dedicated page on your own website demonstrates professionalism and authority in your field. It shows that you're serious about podcast guesting and gives hosts a direct resource to learn more about you. This can enhance your credibility, making you a more attractive guest.

A well-organized guesting page with testimonials, episode links, and detailed bio signals to hosts that you're an experienced and reliable guest, making it easier for them to decide to book you.

3. Direct Traffic and SEO Benefits

Your own guesting page can drive more traffic to your website, which is beneficial for your overall online presence. It helps with SEO, making it easier for people to find you through search engines. This is something you might not get from an agency or platform alone.

When someone searches for your name or relevant keywords, your podcast guesting page might appear in the search results, bringing them directly to your site where they can explore more about your work.

4. Greater Flexibility and Customization

With your own page, you can customize the content to fit your needs. Whether it’s adding a calendar app, showcasing specific podcast episodes, or featuring media clips, you have the flexibility to present yourself exactly as you want to.

See below my own booking page has a calendar booking which checks my own diary immediately. This saves time and double booking.

You can include a video introduction or a section highlighting your speaking style, which might not be possible on an agency or platform profile.

5. Consolidation of Appearances

Even if you're using multiple agencies or platforms, having your own page allows you to consolidate all your appearances in one place. This makes it easier for hosts, fans, and collaborators to see your body of work.

A host can quickly review all your past appearances without needing to navigate through multiple platforms, making the decision to book you easier and more streamlined.

Conclusion:

You need to be in control of your own personal brand. The best way to do that is to be in control of your own domain, and the content that resides on that website registered to that domain.

Agencies and matching sites are brilliant, but they are rented services and never owned. If you don't have a podpage set up yet, I encourage you do so.
